Hands down to awesome sushi and affordable lunch deals. It’s a standing sushi bar - facing sushi chefs are they prepare the sushis. Chef even gave me a complimentary miso soup. Love it that that hot green tea is served by powder rather than sachets. Traditional Japanese meal time experience. ðŸ‘ðŸ»

Even if you have ever tried more expensive sushi restaurants, this one is a very good budget sushi bar you should try. Really good quality.

Best sushi with economic price

Wow! I just think that this is the best place in Tokyo to have real japanese sushi. The quality is superb and there is a great variety of sushi you can choose from.In addition to this, the prices are absolutely resonable. I would say that they are even cheap considering that quality. The only thing to take into account is that there is always a long queue to eat here, so consider at least 50 minutes of waiting time when you decide to come here.

One of my favs~ I usually end up getting take out cause the line for their standing restaurant is always long no matter what time of day.

There are a variety of shops to browse, when you have time. Unlike Ecute, Echika is located outside the ticket gate, so maybe more economical to go, when you have to change between JR and Tokyo Metro lines. They also have a high-grade toilet, located down the corridor near Freshness Burger.

Some of the best sushi we've ever had, in a spot we never expected. I wish we had the chance to go again. This is a quick eat, and go place, and definitely worth looking for.

Delicious sushi at a very affordable price. Only downside is they have a very limited selection of beverages and no seating - you have to stand. Great for a quite bite, but not for large groups or relaxing meals.

How to find: Head underground at Echika Ikebukuro and walk to exit 6. It's hidden somewhere near the exit's staircase. If you're looking for decent sushi on a budget, this place can't be beat. Midori Sushi has a 500 yen sushi lunch set from 11am to 3pm on weekdays, and there were quite a lot of people in line waiting to order the set. The shop seats ~10pax so be prepared to wait. You can also order also carte sushi (ask for the English/picture menu) but the lunch sets get pushed out much faster, so be prepared to wait a while even if you order one nigiri sushi.

Best sushi I've had ever. Located in the ikebukuro station. Prices were cheap ($1-3/piece). My favorites we're the salmon and fatty tuna pieces. There's a bit of a wait but totally worth it. Standing room only and you can make tea with matcha powder at your station.

One of the best sushi places my wife and I have tried in Japan and around the world. An english menu is available for foreigners and the staff are amazing. You actually see your food in the making and the quality is amazing. Price is reasonable too, we spent 2.700 yen and we left the place full and happy. Highly recommended!

Wonderful value for money sushi!

Good sushi with very reasonable price.

This is the best sushi place I've ever been.....price is so reasonable and the food is awesome....the best is the otoro,aburi-toro and aburi-engawa....those are the top 3 i keep ordering....definitely its a must if you are in Ikebukuro....the wait is worth it...shop is a stand up location....it is close to exit C6 across from the supermarket....if you are coming from the station it is on your left and if you are coming from the stairs it is on the right side...last shop from the station and the 1st shop on the stairs...they have an English menu so it makes it easier to order if you are not a Japanese speaker....i highly recommend this sushi place....good atmosphere and friendly staff....

Excellent sushi. Small and standing room only but well worth it. Have your sushi made fresh right in front of you. Take away packs also available from next to register.

This place was a chance find since our airbnb was close by, and we came late in the afternoon at around 3pm so the wait was only 15mins. BUT WOW this was seriously the best sushi we have had in our whole 13 day Japan trip. The sushi was so fresh and handmade in front of you moments before you eat. The prices were unbelievably cheap too, and you can custom order your sushi plate (starts from 50JPY per piece?!???!). We ate until we were full and make no mistake we came into this restaurant starved, yet we only paid 2,200JPY between TWO PEOPLE (which was $12.50AUD average for each person) for a highly affordable version of an omakaze basically. Please try this if you’re ever in Tokyo! Ikebukuro is only a few stops away on the Yamemote JR line and you can find the shop underground in Echika. It’s unfortunate that we couldn’t give this more than 5 stars! Enjoy!!

The best value sushi I've ever had in my life. Hands down the best food I've ever eaten in a subway station. Almost missed my flight to the USA just for this sushi.

Excellent quality, good prices, friendly chefs. No English though and long lines (as for every good restaurant in Tokyo) so be prepared.
Samuela Giallombardo
It is a little bit tricky to find as it is underground. I went with my husband after reading the reviews. We both agree that this is one of the best sushi restaurant tried so far! Fresh delicious fish prepared in front of you. English menu and perfect service. Price is also very good. We spent around 1300 yen each, super full. I have told them it was very good with Google translate as I wanted to make sure they knew we were satisfied. We definitely recommend this place! Arigato

For the price, you get very high quality sushi.

The underground shopping mall train station combo. Worth a quick stop for a bite at a number of the fast food restaurants

Had an excellent, delicious and relatively cheap lunch of sushi and sashimi at this small restaurant at the EchikaSubway station level. Ordered extra Otoro and Uni and cost of lunch for 4 comes to about ¥6.4K. Just imagine a piece of Otoro in Singapore will buy 4 pcs at this place. This is a stand and eat place. And this is Japan... Incredible even to think about this. Please be prepared to wait in Q. There is menu in English. Remember it is not at the ground level. It is inside the Subway.. Take the escalator one level down

Incredibly high quality sushi and very friendly staff

Quality and freshness is outstanding. Unfortunately the place is tiny(there's a long line) and rather difficult to find. But if you're looking for great sushi at an affordable price , this is the place
Jaktat Jiemjun
Stand up Restuarant for the famous midori sushi. Menu is not as much as big branch but quality is still the same.
Dae Woo Kim
Be prepared to line up for minimum 30 mins but it's well worth it. Reasonable prices and generous portions.
Francois
The best sushi shop in the ikebukuro area!

Best kept secret in Tokyo! Fresh fresh sushi lunch for 500 JPY until 3pm. We went at 2:30pm and the wait was only 10 minutes. I’ve waited over an hour there at normal meal times before. Sushi is so cheap, almost cheaper than the Kantei type but the quality is way better. Photo menu available! Hard to find, in an underground mall called “Echika†connected to Ikebukuro also near BIC Camera. TLDR - cheap sushi high quality. If you don’t want the long wait just grab the pre made boxes to go!
Mobisla
Good prices and very quick. Sushi selection is not really huge but you can get big platters to share. Impossible to eat in if you don't queue for 15 minutes. They don't accept some credit international cards.
Sonny Kim
There is no seating. You eat standing up. The menu is limited compared to regular Midori restaurant, but the prices are cheaper.
Kevin Nguyen
Amazing sushi at a very cheap price IMO. There can be a line up but to me it was worth the wait. Service is great and available in English. We came here twice in our trip and will come back every time we come to Tokyo.
Keith Tse
Delicious sushi with reasonable. Better know basic Japanese for ordering
Norman Kong
Need to queu up around 15 minutes ! Excellent food quality with reasonable price !

High quality sushi with reasonable pricing. English menu is available. Waited about 15-20mins for my turn.Favorites were the aburi hotate, aburi engawa and Iwashi.
Thana Chaichanpanit
Fresh raw material, quick serve, great taste of sushi. Even people who do not eat raw food love them. The store provide take away and sit-in option (anyway there are tables for standing with seats).
Jorge Campana Paez
Some of the best raw sushi I've ever eaten

At Meguro Station, good variety to eat or shop.

It was so good!!! Personally don’t ever do reviews but this was so so so so SO FREAKING GOOD. Please go. It does not have the most appealing outlook but looks are deceiving and this SURE AS HELL IS.

Omg, fantastic sushi. We waited for about an hour wondering what all the fuss was about, and we had probably some of the best sushi we had ever had, served by some of the nicest sushi chefs we have ever met. Food was prepared fast and was made of high quality fish. It is in the subway station but don't let that fool you, this places is one of the most reasonably priced sushi restaurants in Tokyo and one of the best we visited. There is a reason for the long queue!
John Vasyl Korytsky
The reviews about this place don't lie, all aspects of the sushi is as fresh and flavoursome as they come! Handmade and prepared right in front of you, with the prices per sushi very reasonable, we will definitely be coming back for more!
